My 2001 Dodge Durango Project

Came across this 2001 Dodge Durango SLT 4.7L 4x4 back in October, 2009 as a Salvage vehicle and I basically only repaired the body damage and replaced the tires with BFGoodrich all-terrains - Haven't really touched the motor, transmission, or interior.. As you can see from the 'before' pics, it had some serious dent damage around the entire body. Estimates were between $1800 - $2300 to fix, but my buddies at the local Maaco body shop managed to do the job you see now for under a Grand! It took them almost an entire month to fix.. Other mods include the Surco Safari roof rack that came from my old 1993 S-10 Blazer I no longer have (blown motor). It is 50x60 inches and the off-road lights on the rack were purchased separately through Summit Racing. The Bully hitch mounted cargo rack (rated for 500 pounds) was purchased through Amazon.com. I replaced the front brake pads with Raybestos brake pads, replaced the TCCM (Transfer Case Control Module) that activates the 4WD on the dash, added the twin/dual cold air intake (found on eBay) along with a Magnaflow catalytic converter and 40 series Flowmaster single exhaust with a chrome tip. The 4.7L V8 engine is rated at 230 horsepower from the factory and with the cold air intake and exhaust modifications, it is estimated to be around 250 horsepower. It does burn a little bit of oil when you give it gas (probably blow-by from the valves), but for having as many miles as it does, it runs excellent!

I purchased this system for my wife's 2009 Impala. BE SURE TO GET A NEW EXHAUST GASKET! This system does not include a new gasket for the catalytic converter to exhaust flange. You don't want to try to reuse an exhaust gasket, and finding this out while the car is on jack stands is not good. This system easily bolts up, requires a careful hand with a dremel tool to make cutouts for the outlets in the rear lower bumper fascia, but makes the V-6 sound awesome compared to the single stock exhaust.See all 1 customer reviews...
